Michelin Guide 2024

63 restaurants have made it into the 2024 Michelin Guide selection, which indicates steady progress in the vibrant gastronomic scene. This year, top chef Ana Roš's Hiša Franko can once again boast three Michelin stars, while Restaurant Milka in Kranjska Gora, where chef David Žafran and his team wield the cooking spoons, retains its two stars. This year, the seven Slovenian restaurants with one Michelin star each are joined by Restaurant Pavus at Tabor Castle above Laško, the creative gastronomic playground of chef Marek Pavčnik. In addition to the prestigious stars, the Michelin Guide 2024 has also awarded 5 new Bib Gourmands.

Exceptional cuisine that is well worth the trip!

Three Michelin stars

Hiša Franko | Head chef Ana Roš
Kobarid
In the Soča Valley, nature sparkles in all its originality. This awareness is particularly evident at Hiša Franko, where the authenticity of the region is woven into the gastronomic offer in the most innovative way. Chef Ana Roš, a self-taught chef who has developed her very own distinctive culinary style, sets the pace for the masterpieces in the kitchen. As mentioned in Michelin, Hiša Franko is the first Slovenian restaurant to be awarded three stars and the 140th restaurant in the world to receive this prestigious award. The constant improvement of quality and the unique menu have convinced the Michelin inspectors. With original colors, flavors and textures, Ana stands out and reflects her vision to always be guided by nature and the seasons, drawing inspiration not only from the local Soča Valley, but also from her travels and Hiša Franko's international team.

Two Michelin stars

Restaurant Milka | Chef David Žefran
Kranjska Gora
A restaurant where the magic of Lake Jasna and the surrounding peaks is reflected in the perfection of the dishes on the plate, prepared from local ingredients with a rich use of herbs and original methods of preserving the ingredients. The Michelin says of Milka and chef David Žefran and his team that they have made incredible progress in the last year with their modern 'Alpine' cuisine, delighting with their "exciting gourmet fusion of Alpine landscapes and Nordic regions", where Žefran's experiences originate.
