Slovenia's top chefs will take you on an extraordinary culinary journey. Discover where the Michelin shines in Slovenia...
With the Michelin awards, Slovenia once again underlines that it is possible to preserve Slovenian culinary traditions in excellent restaurants with top chefs and achieve top performance with modern trends and sustainable product selection.
Two Michelin stars were awarded to chef Ana Roš, Hiša Franko restaurant, with her modern interpretation of traditional cuisine. And five other excellent Slovenian restaurants received their first Michelin stars.
Chef Tomaž Kavčič (Pri Lojzetu) thanked his entire team and family for their hard work over the past 20 years, as did Chef Uroš Faku (Dam Restaurant), who revealed that earning a Michelin star was his childhood dream. Chef Gregor Vrako (Hiša Denk) was almost speechless and just emphasized that the first star for Hiša Denk belongs to everyone there. Chef Jorg Zupan (Restaurant Atelje) reminded how important it is to use only local ingredients, while Chef Uroš Štefelin (Vila Podvin) is also closely connected with the local environment.
HIŠA FRANKO
The history and philosophy of Hiša Franko are closely connected with the traditions and nature of the Soča Valley. A nature that is breathtakingly beautiful, but at the same time has harsh and rough sides. The restaurant is located at the foot of a mountain next to the high alpine pastures, just a stone's throw from the emerald blue Soča River.
Master chef Ana Roš will spoil your guests here.
HIŠA DENK
The restaurant is located not far from the Styrian-Slovenian border. Gregor Vračko, one of the best chefs in Slovenia, cooks there. There is no menu. Instead, the chef personally advises his guests.
PRI LOJZETU
Restaurant Pri Lojzetu is located in the town of Vipava in the west of Slovenia. Here you can also visit the famous Postojna Cave. The restaurant is located in a 17th century residence where Venetian aristocrats once lived. With its stone walls and ceilings, the restaurant offers a romantic atmosphere and excellent service. The talented chef Tomaž Kavčič is well versed in fish and meat dishes, so you have more than just a choice.
HIŠA LINHART
The fairy-tale old town of Radovljica has a significant architectural and cultural heritage from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. One of the town houses has housed a hotel, restaurant and cooking school since 2021. The renowned chef Uroš Štefelin cooks here. He was awarded the Michelin star in 2020 and 2021 and the Green Star for sustainability for the second time.
The promotional video about Slovenian gastronomy whets the appetite for this "delicious" vacation region and was therefore awarded the best promotional film in the category of tourism products. Take a look for yourself...
