The sun melts the last patches of snow in the mountains, nature in the valley is transformed into a magnificent sea of flowers and the towns are bustling with anticipation.

In Rosenheim, the cherry trees on Ludwigsplatz are blossoming in soft pink, creating a pastel contrast to the bright yellow of St. Nicholas Church in Rosenheim. After a cold winter, city life awakens - people sit on Max-Josefs-Platz, the heart of Rosenheim, and enjoy their first coffee or Aperol in the sun.

....eine App on the trail of the Rosenheim Cops

The town of Rosenheim is not all sunshine and cheer: every Tuesday, detectives Hansen and Stadler search for a murderer in the ZDF evening series "Die Rosenheim Cops". The new Chiemsee-Alpenland Tourism filming location discovery map takes you to the original filming locations of the hit series. The map is supplemented by the location discovery app. Film and TV fans can collect points at various destinations and are rewarded with a high-quality pin as a souvenir.

That's why a visit to Herreninsel is a must.
The castle, built by King Ludwig II, served as the backdrop for the 2010 film adaptation of "The Three Musketeers", in which Christoph Waltz appears as Cardinal Richelieu. No wonder: the palace park in front of the royal palace on Herrenchiemsee shines with colorful diversity in spring. Following the historical model, hard-working gardeners plant countless pansies every year, giving the park a colorful dress.

A detour to the picturesque Fraueninsel is particularly worthwhile. From there you have a wonderful view of the lake, the sprouting greenery and the still snow-covered mountain peaks of the Chiemsee Alps. The Chiemsee islands can be reached all year round from Prien and Gstadt at hourly intervals with the Chiemsee-Schifffahrt steamers.
