Experience Bolzano! Shopping in the old town, events on Piazza Walther, regional specialties from the popular fruit market or directly from the town up to the Ritten high plateau.
No summer in the city without top-class concerts and no summer without dance fever, for young and old. Every year, the Bolzano Summer invites you to the South Tyrol Jazz Festival, the Bolzano Dance Festival and the Bolzano Festival Bolzano.
Jazz music can be experienced in private parks and public squares, dance performances take place in the stores of the city center, classical music can be heard in the theater, but also in the open air. A continuous and lively encounter between the city and its guests, making every event an authentic and unique experience for visitors.
Bolzano is also the ideal starting point for exploring the surrounding area.
Fascinating contrasts characterize the cityscape and landscape. Vineyards thrive on the fertile slopes, some of which reach right into the city center. In contrast, the view of the nearby Dolomites and the Rosengarten opens up in the background. Three cable cars connect Bolzano with the surrounding high plateaus of Kohlern, Jenesien and Ritten, where nature lovers will find a variety of hiking trails and cozy places to stop for refreshments.
The provincial capital can also be explored on two wheels on around 40 km of inner-city cycle paths. Starting from the central Waltherplatz square, you can head to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology with the famous glacier mummy Ötzi, the Mercantile Museum under the arcades, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Victory Monument with the documentary exhibition "BZ '18-'45", Runkelstein Castle, the Bilderburg or the MMM Messner Mountain Museum Firmian. For the more sporty, the route then takes you beyond the city limits. The family-friendly cycle path network in South Tyrol covers a total length of around 400 km.
