The bright colors of the autumn leaves slowly make us forget the summer. We enjoy the days of the still-warming autumn sun and relax as we gaze out over the water.

In the fall, many holidaymakers set off for faraway places. For example, to Canada for Indian Summer or island hopping in the Caribbean. Just as impressive and not quite as far away, the Chiemsee islands of the Bavarian Sea offer wonderful tours through the colorful autumn on the doorstep.

The Chiemsee boats take you from island to island in a relaxed manner - a dream for the soul and eyes, because while the autumn sun glistens on the blue lake, the first snow-covered peaks of the Alps are already glistening on the horizon.

There is a lot to discover on the two Bavarian islands: On the Fraueninsel, with its 8th century Frauenwörth Abbey, the atmosphere is set back in time and the Carolingian frescoes in the gate hall are of particular beauty. The silence in the middle of the lake is indescribable.

Herreninsel, on the other hand, boasts the so-called Old and New Castles, the magnificent park and the old trees, which glow magnificently in the fall. The palace on the island of Herrenchiemsee is the world's only copy of Versailles Palace in France. The furnishings in the main rooms and the richness and quality of the textiles and porcelain furnishings are incomparable. The palace is slightly smaller than Versailles, has a baroque façade and the gardens are embedded in the natural park surroundings of the island, which alone is worth a visit, especially in the fall.
