Discover Maribor, the second largest city in Slovenia. The historical city in the middle of picturesque vineyards, surrounded by the green forests of Pohorje.

Maribor has one of the most beautiful city parks in Slovenia, surrounded by hilly vineyards that extend into the city center and offer visitors a magnificent view of the surrounding area and the Drava Valley. The river Drava meanders through the city and the sunny wine landscape. Did you know that you can travel along the Drava on a traditional raft and even pan for gold?

The green slopes of the Pohorje Mountains, gently rising on the other side of the city, are home to countless natural treasures such as streams and waterfalls, a peat bog and even an untouched primeval forest, not to mention rich wildlife that includes the giant peacock butterfly, the largest in Europe.
Here, in the untouched forests of Pohorje, begins the oldest and most popular hiking trail in the country, the Slovenian Mountain Trail, which leads from Maribor to Ankaran.

Maribor, with its close proximity to nature, offers numerous opportunities for year-round recreational activities.

In addition, every yearvisitors can expect numerous cultural highlights and festivals, from the famous multicultural Lent Festival, the International Puppet Festival, the Festival of Classical Music, to the Wine and Culinary Festival of the oldest vine in the world held in Maribor.
