...can still be hiked or explored by bicycle in many places along the Via Claudia Augusta. Leading from the Adriatic coast through Trentino, South Tyrol, Tyrol to Bavaria - or vice versa - this wide route holds many a culinary temptation in addition to countless natural and cultural experiences.

It does not always have to be the whole way. If you have planned your vacation in South Tyrol, then the Vinschgau region offers you a cycling and hiking trail, which of course can also be enjoyed in stages.

We started for you in Laas, a picturesque village about halfway along the path between Lake Resia and the spa town of Merano. Here many a sidewalk announces the special natural treasures of the village, the now world-famous marble from Laas.

By the way, fishing is also possible, with prior notification and under conditions to be inquired.

With new experiences in your luggage, refreshed and strengthened, you can now decide according to your mood: Continue exploring the South Tyrolean Vinschgau by hiking or biking. The proverbial next stop would be Brugg, because here you can get on the Vinschgau train in the direction of Reschenpass or Meran. In a few minutes you reach the spa town of Merano, perhaps for a stroll through the city - you have the choice...
