Winter sports in the South Tyrolean Vinschgau, that's much more than snow-sure fun on the slopes.

The wide network of prepared cross-country trails alone covers 240 kilometers. In addition, there is a perfect infrastructure for cross-country skiers, with accommodations right next to the trail and cross-border nature and cultural experiences that date back to Roman times.

When cross-country skiing in Vinschgau, you follow, by the way, historical traces, because over the Reschenpass once led one of the important Roman trade routes to the north, the "Via Claudia Augusta". Two millennia ago, being on the road in winter was certainly more arduous than today and the Romans could only dream of the infrastructure for winter sports.

No matter whether you are a demanding hobby skier or a leisurely beginner.
No one gets past the many huts and snack stations that lie directly on the route. All accommodations marked with "Cross-country Arena Vinschgau" as well as the cross-country friendly and establishments in the Tyrolean Oberland are completely geared to the needs of cross-country skiers. In South Tyrol's Vinschgau Valley, cross-country skiing foxes have 90 km of dream trails to choose from around the Reschen Pass, in the Langtaufer Valley, in the Schlinig Valley, in Taufers, in the Ortler area and in the Martell Valley.

The Reschensee trail
crosses the border from Vinschgau in South Tyrol to Austria. The Tyrolean Oberland, with 150 kilometers of snow-sure trails up to 2,800 meters above sea level, is the North Tyrolean stomping ground for real cross-country skiing foxes.

Barrier-free cross-country skiing in the Kaunertal is completely new
Wheelchair users can now use cross-country sleds on four trails as part of the "Tyrol without Handicap" project. Since the Kaunertal cross-country trail winds through the entire valley, the entry point to Nordic skiing fun is right on the doorstep of many accommodations. "Highly recommended" are also the Langtaufers high-altitude trail, the Haider trail on the Reschen Pass and the Weißkuge trail near Nauders, as well as the romantic Tschey trail in Pfunds.
