Mountain bike tour with challenging climbs, flowing trails, wonderful panoramas and culinary highlights...

First power out, then enjoy - the Capanna Monte Bar in Ticino, the Ferme du Soliat at the Creux du Van in the Jura and Three-Lakes-Land and the Keschhütte in Graubünden offer the perfect destination.

From single trail to gnocchi feast
A guest at the new Capanna Monte Bar (Ticino)
A magnificent view of the city of Lugano, the lake and the Alpine peaks, a state-of-the-art mountain hut and two young hut wardens who prefer the hut pot to haute cuisine. Those who stop by Alessandro Müller and Jvan Cattaneo experience hearty Ticino hospitality in outstanding architecture. Both are trained chefs who previously worked in the gourmet kitchens of the 5-star hotel industry in St. Moritz, the Caribbean and Dubai. In December 2016, the two climbing enthusiasts took the reins of the newly built Capanna Monte Bar.

The hut surprises the two-wheeler guest with above-average comfort. Service station for repairs, pump, cleaning facilities, various battery charging stations for e-bikes, lockable bike room, hot water showers and a washing machine.

Several routes lead to the Capanna Monte Bar. If you only have a day to spare, you can crank up the roughly 1000 meters of altitude from Tesserete on the asphalt road. Very popular with mountain bikers of all levels is the four-day signposted "Lugano Bike" tour. On the route from Lugano to Ponte Tresa, this tour combines the flowiest single trails in the region. It passes the mountains Monte Brè, Monte Bar and Monte Tamaro and offers fantastic viewpoints.

From the watchmaking town of La Chaux-de-Fonds to the Grand Canyon of Switzerland
Porcini mushroom fondue and absinthe at Ferme Le Soliat (Jura and Three-Lakes Region)
In the Jura, mountain bikers discover an enchantingly diverse landscape with lonely valleys, lush pastures, rushing rivers and small lakes. From the watchmaking town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, the trail leads through the Val-de-Travers, famous for its absinthe distilleries, to Soliat. Only 300 meters away from the Creux du Van, a unique, imposing rock arena (also called the Grand Canyon of Switzerland), lies the Ferme Le Soliat. Hungry cyclists can fortify themselves in the secluded garden with regional specialties, bread from the wood-fired oven or porcini mushroom and garlic fondue. With a bit of luck, you might even spot chamois ...

If you want to do the whole Jura bike tour and not just a day trip, follow the route over the Balcon du Jura with wonderful views of Lake Neuchâtel. The day after, the route crosses below the rocky Aiguilles de Baulmes a remote area with numerous bunkers from the Second World War. The last climb leads into the Vallée de Joux, famous for its austere, unspoiled nature.

Solar technology and magnificent view at 2625 meters
The Keschhütte in Graubünden Hospitality with a long tradition at 2625 meters - the first Keschhütte was built in 1893 as a refuge not far from the current location. The new building from 2011 convinces with the use of solar technology for heating, lighting and hot water. In addition to the bike room, there is also a drying room for clothes. The hut wardens Ursina and Reto Barblan attach great importance to regionality. Thus, after the demanding ascent, mountain bikers can look forward to salsiz from the house butcher Erwin Eggenberger from Filisur, alpine cheese from the Alp digl Chant, eggs from the organic farm Plaschair and bread from the bakery Preisig in Bergün, as well as beer from the small but fine brewery in Davos Monstein and wine from the Bündner Herrschaft.

The Keschhütte is located on four worthwhile mountain bike tours. The three-day "Graubünden Bike Route" starts in Davos with the challenging ride over the Scalettapass and leads from the Keschhütte down into Val Tours, a high alpine route framed by three-thousand-meter peaks and glacier tongues to Bergün, where it goes the next day with varied singletrais via Filisur to Lenzerheide. An extremely demanding round trip over 62 kilometers and 2900 meters of altitude leads from Bad Alvaneu over the Ducan Pass and the Sertig Pass past the Kesch Hut back to the starting point.
