18 four-thousand-meter peaks surround Saas-Fee and its neighboring communities Saas-Grund, Saas-Almagell and Saas-Balen like a shell.

The mountain peaks give the valley the unmistakable name "Pearl of the Alps". Saas-Fee is car-free, but can be reached by car or public transport. Since the opening of the new Lötschberg tunnel, you can reach your vacation destination much faster, in summer or in winter.

Rustic village character
Even the journey through the Saas Valley is an experience. Steep mountain slopes and deep gorges give you an idea of the natural forces that can be at work here. The car-free village of Saas Fee has been able to preserve its rustic character despite its modern infrastructure. With their old Valais wooden houses and barns, Saas Grund, Saas Almagell -also home to ex-ski star Pirmin Zurbriggen- and Saas Balen with its baroque round church have retained their original village character.

Highest metro in the world
From Saas Fee, the Alpin Express cable car and the Panorama Felskinn cable car float up to the glacier tongues on the Felskinn (3,000 meters). From there, the Metro Alpin, the world's highest underground funicular, travels to the Mittelallalin. At 3,500 meters, in the world's highest revolving restaurant, the mighty Alpine peaks are within reach. In the world's largest ice pavilion, some of the secrets of the glaciers are revealed to visitors.

The lights of Milan
The "Pearl of the Alps" is located on the Mischabel chain, with the highest mountain on Swiss soil, the 4,545 meter high Dom. The unique panorama on the Mittelallalin reaches as far as the Bernese and Grisons Alps. In good visibility, even the lights of the Italian metropolis of Milan can be seen.

Skiing under the sun
All skiers and snowboarders, whether beginners, average skiers or professionals will find slopes to suit their ability. Saas-Fee and the Saas Valley are guaranteed snow thanks to ski resorts located up to 3,600 meters above sea level. A large part of the slopes, which do not lead over the glacier, are additionally covered with snow. The valley runs can thus be guaranteed in Saas Fee until the end of the season (always at the end of April).
In summer, 20 kilometers of varied glacier slopes are available for snow enthusiasts in Saas Fee. It goes without saying that the world's best skiers also come to Saas Fee to hone their winter sports skills. On hot summer days, the area also becomes a meeting place for snowboarders who enjoy themselves on the Super Pipe in the Snow Park Allalin.
