Liechtenstein offers the visitor an amazing cultural, natural and culinary diversity

in a small area. In the 160 km2 large country there is something for every taste. Even the renowned National Geographic Traveler Magazine has discovered the alpine state with 37,000 inhabitants and put it on the list of destinations to visit.

The Principality of Liechtenstein is a true Eldorado for hiking and mountain biking fans. From the mild Rhine Valley, the terrain rises to the rocky high mountain regions at 2,599 meters, offering something for all outdoor enthusiasts.

Hiking Liechtenstein
Hiking is not only the miller's delight. It is also one of the most popular activities for residents and visitors in Liechtenstein in summer and autumn. Nature lovers appreciate the over 400 kilometer long hiking trail network with easy to challenging hiking trails. One of Liechtenstein's hiking classics is the Panorama Trail - also called "Route 66". The 48-kilometer hike is divided into three stages and offers unforgettable views of the Alpine world. And for all those who prefer to venture into nature on two wheels, around 100 kilometers of cycling trails are waiting to be "conquered".

Modernity meets tradition
Liechtenstein is not only worth a visit because of its natural beauty. Its amazing density of museums, philatelic treasures and attractive summer festivals also make cultural Liechtenstein a popular destination for excursions and vacations. One could almost say: If Finland is the land of lakes, Liechtenstein is the land of museums. Especially in the traffic-free Vaduz promenade - only a stone's throw away from the picturesque vineyards and the imposing castle rock - culture fans and art lovers like to go on a journey of discovery. But a lively art, music and theater scene also pulsates in the state's other 10 communities. Summer highlights include the Liechtenstein State Holiday, the Liechtenstein Guitar Days, the Liechtenstein Festival and the open-air film festival in Vaduz.

Princely enjoyment
An astonishingly large number of winegrowers in the climatically favored Rhine Valley are dedicated to the juice of the vine, for which alone a trip is worthwhile. The culinary spectrum of the food served with it ranges from exquisite gourmet menus in restaurants awarded with toques and stars to traditional dishes in rustic mountain huts. Liechtensteiner Käsknöpfle with apple sauce are particularly popular. Also among the culinary delights are the country's own beer, Liechtenstein whisky and various noble distillates.

Idyllic winter sports area
The white splendor in the snow-sure winter sports area of Malbun makes the hearts of winter sports enthusiasts beat faster. The modern, comfortable lifts and the children's land "malbi-park" are located in a protected valley basin at 1,600 m above sea level. The safe and, with 23 kilometers of slopes, manageable skiing area is made for families with children - the mountain village was not awarded the "Family Destination" seal of approval for nothing. Not far from Malbun is also the idyllic cross-country skiing paradise of Steg-Valüna, where skaters and classic runners can enjoy the beauty of nature in complete silence over 15 km. The offer in the winter sports area is rounded off by an ice skating rink and a toboggan run, which guarantee that fun is not neglected.
