Alps Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is a family and hiker's paradise. These five hikes combine the unique mountain experience with a great family outing - for young and old explorers.
Flower fields and summit fun
The hike from Malbun to the Schönberg is already well doable with children of elementary school age. The little arduous ascent leads past flower fields, the Sass-Seelein and along a secured mountain path. An adventure for young and old, which does not let boredom arise due to the different landscapes.
Marmots and apple pie
The ascent from Planken to the Gafadura hut is quite challenging for little hikers. About 700 meters of altitude have to be covered on the hiking trail that winds its way up. On the way, depending on the season, you will always find wild strawberries and great tree hiding places. Shortly before you reach the Gafadura hut, you have to lure the many marmots out of their burrows before you are rewarded with homemade apple pie and a delicious rösti at the Gafadura hut.
Walk for water rats
The hike from the southern end of the Gängle Lake to Alp Valüna is already doable for small children and also suitable for strollers. The path leads along the Valüna stream and offers all kinds of things for children to discover. At the end of the approx. 1.5 km long trail, the Valüna alp awaits hikers with delicious alpine yoghurts, meat platters and cakes.
Castles and barbecue sites
The historical high-level trail leads to the Eschnerberg above the Rhine valley in the north of the Liechtenstein lowlands, which is adorned with castle ruins. The historical circular hiking trail offers an extensive network of hiking paths, which, depending on the section of the trail, is also very suitable for small children. On the way, rest areas invite you to rest and barbecue (at the ruins "Untere Burg" and "Obere Burg").
On the way to the researcher throne
Children are inquisitive and want to explore the world for themselves. With magnifying glasses, yardsticks and lots of fun, they can explore the alpine world on the Forscherweg in Malbun. The Forscherweg has ten stations and starts at the "Schlucher-Treff" at the entrance to Malbun. After about two hours, the destination, the researcher's throne at Sass-Seelein, is reached. There, a large rest area with a fireplace invites you to linger.
