The starting point for the castle tour is Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Vaduz Castle is the Principality's landmark and has towered over Vaduz for around 700 years. It has been the residence of the Princely Family since 1938. The route then crosses the Rhine via the energy bridge and leads to Buchs. Werdenberg Castle and town are still largely in their original 13th century state. The ascent to the Wartau castle ruins is easy to manage on an e-bike. The route continues down to Sargans Castle. Gutenberg Castle in Balzers, also from the 13th century, can be seen from afar, standing on a rocky spur over 70 meters high. Finally, the castle tour leads back to the starting point on leisurely cycle paths. The ascent from Plattis to Gretschins is only suitable if you are in good physical condition. (145 vertical meters over 2 kilometers) Alternative route: From Sevelen, follow the Föhn Skate No. 62 to Trübbach.

Valorsch tour
Round tour with refreshment stops, 13.6 km, approx. 2 hours, difficulty difficult

Three mountain streams provide the framework for the Valorsch tour. From the Walser hut settlement of Steg, the route first leads northwards through hilly terrain along the Saminabach stream and then follows the Valorschbach stream in a south-easterly direction to Alp Güschgle. The easily passable dirt road ends here and a twenty-minute push on the hiking trail up to Alp Guschg becomes necessary. Once you reach the dirt road there, it's only a few minutes to the highest point of the circular tour, the Sassförkle. From there, the descent to Malbun follows the Malbunbach stream in a westerly direction back to the starting point at Steg.
