South Tyrol Merano Country
Now a spectacular 200,000 spring flowers are blooming again in the gardens near Merano.
On an area of twelve hectares, visitors can actually experience the "whole world in one garden" - thanks to the special climate of the sunny city of Merano. In the area with the mildest winters in the German-speaking world, exotic ornamental plants from the Mediterranean regions thrive just as much as the frugal plants of the Alpine region, with the complex interplay between natural vegetation, climate, man and location acting as the organizing principle.
From a bird's eye view, one can enjoy the panorama of the entire garden from the viewing platform at the end of the Sissi Promenade. This was designed by star architect Matteo Thun and therefore bears the name "Matteo Thun's Lookout".
