Into the climb, step by step, the thighs burn - but it goes forward.

Up the mountain to the highest point of the tour. And then it's downhill again - at speed and also with red-hot brakes. More than 1,500 kilometers of signposted tours in all levels of difficulty await bikers in Styria. Beginners will find easy routes as well as experienced bikers will find their challenges, for example on the World Cup course in Schladming, on the World Cup and European Championship courses in the surroundings of Graz. The routes in the 5 mountain bike regions of Styria take the biker from the Tauern Mountains or the roof of Styria, the Dachstein to the hilly, enjoyable landscape of eastern Styria and around Graz. Tips on where you can best let off steam on two studded tires on tours lasting several days:

Culture meets nature - The Graz Bergland Tour.
The pleasure capital Graz at your back and the Grazer Bergland smiling ahead: In three daily stages, the enjoyable, but just as crisp as a Graz Krauthäuptel tour leads over 171 kilometers to all the bike highlights near the Styrian capital, following in the footsteps of the mountain bike world champions and European champions who are crowned here year after year. Attractive trails mark the path, which was composed from the route network of the Graz region and the Alpine Tour. Back in Graz, after the incomparable nature experience, you can fill up on culture in the various museums.

Now it gets romantic
The dreamy slopes of the Hochschwab and lush green forests, which already enchanted the Styrian poet Peter Rosegger, give this four-stage journey by bike its name: Romantic Tour. On 286 kilometers, the tour in the northeast of the country connects the place of pilgrimage Mariazell with the sports center Stuhleck over specially created trails and passes the most beautiful spots and almost untouched places of Styria.

Her Majesty will see you now
The mountain stands in the spotlight of the sun. At its feet nestle Salzburg, Upper Austria and Styria, its shoulders and back extend an invitation to all bikers: the Dachstein, UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and center of the perfectly signposted tour around this personality. But which also bows to the bikers' skills, because there are three variants with three levels of difficulty: The Dachsteinrunde with a total of 180 kilometers in three stages is easier, for the real experts awaits the Dachsteinrunde black: 270 kilometers - there burn the thighs!

Boundless biking
Even if Styria is easily accessible by car or train - why not enjoy the gentle approach by bike. The Styrian mountain bike tour network now has two signposted connections to the federal capital Vienna. One variant leads via Mariazell to the Styrian biker's paradise, the other via the Semmering World Heritage bike trail.
