Slovenia attracts both adrenaline-seeking mountain bikers and relaxed recreational riders with numerous routes, knowledgeable guides, detailed bike trail maps,

cyclist-friendly accommodation and a dense network of workshops and services. In all towns along the routes, tourist information offices help with finding hotels and explaining the sights. The Julian Alps offer a cooler alternative to the sometimes hot Adriatic routes, especially in summer. The Kranjska Gora region in the Upper Sava Valley on the border with Italy and Austria offers 342 kilometers of routes of all levels of difficulty.

As a special treat, bike route 4 leads over the highest mountain pass in Slovenia, the Vršic, which connects the Sava and Soca valleys. The latter, with its breathtaking nature and still little-used trails, is considered a biker's Dorado.

The climatic health resort of Bled is considered the ideal starting point for challenging mountain stages by bike: from easy asphalt and gravel roads to technically difficult climbs and descents, mountain bikers will find their Eldorado here. Cyclists gain completely new experiences when they leave the usual paths: For example, on a tour through the tunnels of the abandoned lead and zinc mine to discover the underworld of Mount Peca (2,125 meters).

The facility in the Porhorje Mountains in northeastern Slovenia presents itself as a mecca for bike park fans. The Bike Park Pohorje starts at the valley station of the cable car of the same name. Numerous earth walls and wooden obstacles with jumps of up to six meters lead to an increased pulse rate. To the starting point, freeriders can take the cable car or also cover a section on the Radvanje chairlift. The approximately four-kilometer-long route offers several options and is thus suitable for both downhill experts and beginners. Those who are riding for the first time can rely on experienced freeride guides who provide valuable tips and tricks for lasting thrills .
