Autumn time is winemaking time.
Experience an enjoyable tasting session at the Princely Court Winery in Vaduz.

Did you know that wine has been grown in the territory of the Principality of Liechtenstein for over 2000 years?
The Romans brought the first vines to the country. Since then, the foehn and the centuries of experience of local winemakers have made excellent wines possible - from Chardonnay to Pinot Noir and Riesling.

The wine culture in the Principality is traditional, professional and of exquisite quality. Over 100 winegrowers, four of them professional, produce the noble drops. In the climatically favored Rhine Valley, the foehn on the southern slopes of the mountains allows excellent wines to ripen. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir/Zweigelt, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot are the preferred grape varieties.

Pleasurable tastings
The Fürstliche Hofkellerei in Vaduz offers both a good overview and oenological rarities that can be tasted and purchased. The Castellum winery in Eschen and Harry Zech's Cantina winery in Schaanwald also offer tastings. Many winegrowers who cultivate small areas on a sideline basis and press their own wines also contribute to the small, fine wine culture of the country.

Wine tasting: Princess Marie's favorite wines

H.S.H. Princess Marie not only represents the Hofkellerei but, as a trained sommelière, supports the team in its daily business. Take the opportunity to experience her favorite drops.

The Hofkellerei of the Prince of Liechtenstein in Vaduz is located in the Herawingert vineyard. The Herawingert, with its four hectares of vineyards, is one of the best vineyards in the Rhine Valley; this is due to its southwestern exposure and the mild Föhn climate. Together with the soil conditions, these are ideal conditions for the cultivation of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.(directly to the offer)

History of the Fürstliche Hofkellerei
In 1699 Prince Hans Adam of Liechtenstein acquired the dominion of Schellenberg and in 1712 the county of Vaduz. On January 23, 1719, a diploma from Emperor Charles VI united the County of Vaduz and the Lordship of Schellenberg and elevated them to an Imperial Principality with the name Liechtenstein. The purchase of the Lordship of Schellenberg and the County of Vaduz was ratified by Emperor Charles VI on March 7, 1712. With the acquisition of the County of Vaduz, the Herawingert also became the property of the Princely House. The Herawingert is probably the most traditional and important vineyard in the Principality of Liechtenstein and is one of the best vineyards in the Rhine Valley. With its 4 hectares of contiguous vineyards, it is considered the core of viticulture in the country and is one of the best vineyards in the Rhine Valley. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay find the most ideal conditions for the cultivation and ripening of the grapes here thanks to the southwestern exposure and the mild foehn climate.
