The Ruggeller Riet is a wetland that thousands of Siberian irises turn into a blue-purple sea of flowers in June.
From the center of Rugzell, the route follows the Rhine and the canal in the direction of Riet. The canal dam sets the route. If you are lucky, you will see a beaver in its den thanks to the renaturalization. Or one of the countless bird species, for example storks. Leaving the Rhine and the canal, the route continues to the Weienau barbecue area, where there is a perfect spot for a picnic. Freshly fortified, after crossing the meadow landscape, the trail continues to Bangshof, where you can buy regional farm products. The trail continues to the Eschnerberg and back to the village center.
