At the foot of the Nordkette, high above the roofs of the capital of Tyrol, the Alpenzoo Innsbruck (750 m) extends with its approximately 2000 animals from 150 species.

As a so-called "theme zoo", it offers the world's largest collection of animals from the Alpine region in enclosures, aquariums and terrariums designed in harmony with nature. These include elk and bison, which were still at home in Tyrol after the last ice age. The public favorites bear, wolf and lynx are also present, as are ibex, chamois and bearded vulture. Walk-through enclosures and large panorama windows offer fascinating insights into the animal world of the Alps. Endangered domestic animal breeds are shown at the show farm and the "bear children's playground" rounds off a successful Alpine zoo visit for our little animal friends! In order not to endanger our animals, dogs are not allowed.
Large aquarium Fish World of the Alps and Aqua-Terrarium FRÖSCHL-HAUS A tour takes about 2-3 hours.

Daily from 09 o'clock (April - October) until 18 o'clock, (November - March) until 17 o'clock.
