Three four-thousand-meter peaks have already celebrated their anniversary:

The Finsteraarhorn at 4271 m above sea level was first conquered in 1812. On August 16, the chamois hunters Alois Volker and Joseph Bortis and the servant of the Grimselhospice scaled the summit. The Fiesch region celebrated this daring deed with various events and tours around and on the Finsteraarhorn. 50 years later, on July 31, 1862, a group of five mountaineers climbed the Täschhorn (4491 m above sea level) for the first time.

Two weeks before the Täschhorn, on July 18, 1862, it was the turn of the Dent Blanche, where a group of five, also led by two local mountain guides, reached the 4357 m summit for the first time.

Climbing and floating in new adventure parks
From July 1, the new, fast Gemmi cable car will take the group from Leukerbad up to the Gemmi Pass at 2300 meters above sea level, where Switzerland's first adventure via ferrata will provide thrills. Adventure seekers are guaranteed to get their money's worth. The combination with rope park elements, a 65 m long rope bridge and the 540° revolving ladder, where you turn around your own axis one and a half times, make hearts beat faster.

In addition, an adrenaline kick awaits those who are free from giddiness: an observation platform between heaven and earth. It is located directly at the Wildstrubel mountain restaurant. From here, the steel construction rises about ten meters above the rock face. Anyone who ventures onto the platform is rewarded with a unique view of Leukerbad, some 900 meters below. The new Baschweri rope park on Bettmeralp is an experience for the whole family. On 6 different courses, ranging from easy to difficult, you float through the larch forest secured by steel cables, always with a view of the Valais Alps. In Grächen, the SISU children's park with ropes course elements and other attractions is also open in summer for the first time.

Family fun with "Hasenliebe" and "Charlotte la Marmotte
What sounds like titles for children's movies are two new hiking trails for the whole family and especially for the little ones great cinema in nature. The fairy tale trail "Hasenliebe" (Rabbit Love) in Bellwald tells the story of the little rabbit who loves the big rabbit very much during stops in small chalets. At Verbier St-Bernard, from July onwards, "Charlotte la Marmotte"- "Charlotte the marmot" - will playfully initiate kids into the secrets of the local flora and fauna. For the big hikers, the 9 Lakes Trail in Obergoms, the 5 Senses Trail near Reckingen and a new hiking trail near the Dossen Glacier Garden in Zermatt will be a source of excitement this summer.
