Encounter with the Capra ibex
In the rocks, the Capricorn does not need to fear any competition, seemingly effortlessly gliding from rock to rock. This is all the more astonishing since ibex can weigh up to 100 kilograms. In the Liechtenstein mountain region you have good chances to observe an ibex at close range. Especially recommended for this are the hikes from the Pfälzerhütte to the Naafkopf as well as the Falknis tour.

A whistling concert of a special kind
In order to protect themselves from enemies in terrain with little cover, marmots depend on their burrows. In case of danger they disappear in a flash in the burrow or in one of the 1 to 2 m long escape tubes. The warning whistle of the marmots is actually a cry. As soon as enemies like the golden eagle appear, the animals warn each other. In the Liechtenstein resort of Malbun, the cute rodents are frequently encountered.

In the Liechtenstein mountains, you can visit various alps and observe the animals that live there. Some of the alps are officially catered and connected to hiking trails. An unforgettable experience is the Alpabtrieb in mid-September.
