Experience the world of mountains in Reinhold Messner's six museums in South Tyrol! His museums are all dedicated in different ways to the theme of mountain man.

"My "15th eight-thousander" is the sum of all my experiences. To the mountain and its culture I have dedicated a museum project with five unusual locations in the grandiose landscape of South Tyrol." (Source: flyer-messner-mounten-museum)
MMM Juval in Castelbello

There must be something special about this place when a man who is at home almost everywhere in the world sets up his summer residence here of all places. But here, at his castle near Naturno, above the narrow Schnals Valley gorge, one of the most famous South Tyroleans feels at home. Juval Castle, one of the 5 Messner Mountain Museums, is dedicated to the "myth of the mountain". The museum houses several art collections: Tibetika collection, the gallery with images of the Sacred Mountains of the world, collection of masks from five continents, the unique exhibition on Gesar Ling, the Tantra room and the expedition cellar.

Juval Castle was built by Hugo of Montalban around 1278 on a prehistoric settlement site. After changing hands several times and a first renovation in 1913, it has been owned by Reinhold Messner since 1983. At Juval Castle he makes new plans for further expeditions, writes books or collects ideas for future projects. In addition, there is a small mountain animal park, farm-fresh products in the Schlosswirt, excellent wines in the Unterortl and a farm store at the foot of the castle hill.
