Fast, but safe for children is the toboggan ride from the Kranzberg to the valley

to Mittenwald. Right there, families will also find a cozy skiing area. The Kranzberg in the Karwendel Alpine World in Upper Bavaria is an insider tip for families and other tobogganing fans. Nostalgia comes up when you float up to 1200 meters on the chairlift, opposite rises the Karwendel, which is almost twice as high. A user on "rodelfuehrer.de" describes it like this: "A small, but fine toboggan run at civil prices, without waiting times and with an old, but charming chairlift. (...) The run offers both somewhat steeper and flatter passages and is also suitable for families. The panorama in the area is fabulous to boot."

On the 1.6-kilometer-long child-safe track, the tobogganers are among themselves; pedestrians take a separate path up for the 225 meters of altitude. Those who want to warm up in between have three cozy huts to choose from, and sleds can be rented down at the valley station. The ski area on the Kranzberg is also cozy. There, big and small skiers get the hang of it without the hustle and bustle of the slopes and lift queues. While the parents make their turns, the little ones learn what "pizza" has to do with skiing. The ski schools in Alpenwelt Karwendel teach them easily.

Wellness on two boards
Cross-country skiers pamper body and soul in the Upper Bavarian Alpenwelt Karwendel. At the guest biathlon and on the Magdalena Neuner cross-country trail, they can emulate the Olympic champion. Vacationers get around Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau in 150 kilometers of landscape enjoyment - if desired even directly from the train.

"LLL - cross-country skiers live longer, as the saying goes." In fact, the gentle glide on narrow slats is considered a health turbo, it strengthens the heart, circulation and immune system. Landscape, wind and sun increase in addition the mental well-being. Alpenwelt Karwendel in Upper Bavaria delights cross-country skiers with a network around 150 kilometers long, awarded by the German Ski Association. The trails lead along the Isar, around lakes, through forests, often with a dream panorama. From the easy sun trail, to the new Magdalena Neuner trail, to the "black" panorama trail with 15 kilometers, which is very popular with fast skaters. One leads to Kaltenbrunn (Krün), where the guest biathlon starts every Wednesday and Magdalena Neuner's biathlon career began. The Olympic champion had her own cross-country ski trail dedicated in Wallgau in 2010. The route from Wallgau along the Isar to Vorderriß is considered the most difficult, but scenic. Circular courses as well as the connection from Mittenwald to the neighboring Tyrolean cross-country skiing network (Seefeld) provide even more variety.
