It is a picture book idyll that can be enjoyed to the fullest while skiing or snowshoeing, taking a horse-drawn carriage ride or sledding.

Ski region with over 2,000 kilometers of slopes
Winter sports have a long tradition in SalzburgerLand: the state is considered the cradle of alpine skiing. The best prepared slopes, the most modern cable cars and lifts and a breathtaking mountain panorama inspire winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world. They appreciate the offer of 22 ski regions in 70 winter sports resorts and 2,000 kilometers of slopes. Snow and fun parks in 30 resorts, rustic huts and modern mountain restaurants as well as Austria's largest ski association Ski amadé guarantee enjoyment and sportiness to a high degree. Superlatives abound: for example, the longest fun slope in the world or the most attractive superpipe in Austria.

Nordic sports, biathlon, ice kiting, zorbing and ski touring
SalzburgerLand is an Eldorado for ice climbing on natural ice: the "Eisarena Kolm Saigurn" in the Rauris National Park Valley is one of the most rewarding ice climbing areas in SalzburgerLand and is known far beyond its borders.

The extensive and versatile network of cross-country ski trails covers more than 2,200 kilometers across SalzburgerLand. It is suitable for all facets of Nordic sports - from classic cross-country skiing to skating and laser biathlon - and includes floodlit trails as well as snow-sure high-altitude trails, such as on the Rossbrand in Filzmoos.

With ski touring, a sport rich in tradition has become trendy again in recent years: A special binding and skins help with the ascent off groomed slopes. Downhill it's on pistes or over untouched powder and deep snow slopes. Ski touring is a fantastic nature experience for all those who are familiar with the terrain; beginners, on the other hand, should get an experienced guide by their side. For beginners, there are marked ski tour ascent routes on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, in the Fuschlsee region as well as in the Heutal in Salzburg's Saalachtal each have an instructional ski tour trail, in Obertauern an instructional ski tour to the Gnadenalm and in Zell am See-Kaprun with the Ronachkopf the first ski tour mountain in Salzburg Land.
