Summer vacation at the Fuschlsee means experiencing cool water and mountains.

With its crystal clear water and dreamy bays, Lake Fuschel is ideal for swimming and water sports. The Fuschlseebad offers everything the "water sports heart" desires. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, choose the Stöllinger natural bathing beach on the southern shore of Lake Fuschl with its magnificent panoramic view or the Hofer natural bathing beach on the western shore with a view of the magnificent Hotel Schloss Fuschl. It is romantic to cross Lake Fuschl silently on an electrically operated wooden tiller. From the promenade in Fuschl am See, the zille passes beautiful bays to Fuschl Castle. You dock at the castle fishery, where a hearty snack of smoked fish and "Fuschlgeist" will delight the palate.

At the end of a hidden side valley on the edge of the Salzkammergut lies Hintersee, with 450 inhabitants the smallest village in Salzburg's Alpine foothills. At the entrance to the enchanting mountain world of the Osterhorn group, the idyllic Hintersee attracts visitors with a large sunbathing lawn at the Hirschpoint bathing area including a children's playground, petting zoo, beach volleyball, table tennis and rowing boats.

Hiking around the lakes and to the alpine pastures
The Fuschlsee region is a fantastic hiker's paradise. The Faistenau Hintersee alpine pasture area, for example, with its 150 kilometers of hiking trails of all levels of difficulty, guarantees fascinating impressions and views. One of the most popular destinations is the Latschen-Alm at 1,407 meters on the Spielbergalm, which can be reached on five different hikes.

A romantic mill hiking trail leads back to the 16th and 17th centuries to lovingly restored mills where farmers ground rye and wheat for baking bread. Ebenau owes its name "village of the old mills" to them. Also worth seeing on the hike are the Plötz natural monument with its impressive waterfall in a wildly romantic gorge and the museum in the "Fürstenstöckl", a former prince-archbishop's armory.

From racing bike to e-bike
Whether racy on a racing bike or more leisurely on one of the 24 electric bikes or on a mountain bike - there is something for everyone in the Fuschlsee vacation region. Various marked mountain bike trails in the Faistenau and Hintersee area lead to dreamlike alpine pastures and make the biker's heart beat faster! One of the special highlights is a pleasure tour on the famous Salzkammergut cycle path which leads along the Fuschler Ark from Thalgau via Mondsee to the Salzkammergut.

Attractive excursion destinations
There are many worthwhile excursion destinations to cultural assets of the region. The city of Salzburg, the Zwölferhorn in St. Gilgen, one of the most beautiful lookout mountains in the Salzkammergut, the historic Hundsmarktmühle on the Fuschlsee circular hiking trail or the ascent to the Wartenfels Ruin, the "secret" landmark of the region, are certainly a must. A hike from Hof bei Salzburg to the over 500 year old "Rauchhaus Mühlgrub", a largely preserved and unique Einhof, is also a nice excursion.
