Ice-cold art in the Eiger village of Grindelwald, from January 13 to 18, 2025

In winter 2025, Grindelwald will host the World Snow Festival. It is a celebration of ice-cold art, where international artists from all over the world create figures and sculptures from 3-meter-high blocks of snow.

The World Snow Festival has developed into one of the most fascinating and popular winter events in the Eiger village of Grindelwald and is now an integral part of the seasonal program. Every January, Grindelwald invites visitors to the international snow festival on Baerplatz in the village center. What began in 1983 with a giant Heidi carved out of snow by Japanese artists has since developed into a cultural event that is a must in the Eiger village.
