Spectacular alpine panoramas with the alpine triumvirate Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau

experience the guests of the Bernese Oberland. The fascinating mountain world can be "experienced" in a different way from Meiringen on the four-pass journey with the PostBus. In one day, you will travel over the Susten, Grimsel, Nufenen and Gotthard passes. The Beatus Caves are located directly on Lake Thun. In addition to beautiful stalactite formations and rushing waterfalls, exciting history also awaits visitors in the depths of the mountain. No path leads closer to the famous Eiger north face. The Eiger Trail from Eigergletscher station to Alpiglen station on the Jungfrau Railway guarantees two hours of thrills.

Pristine mountain landscapes and the alpine triumvirate of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau characterize the Bernese Oberland. The fascinating mountain worlds can be "experienced" in a very special way with an offer from PostBus, the bus company of Swiss Post: Starting in Meiringen, you will travel over four imposing passes of the Central Alps in one day: the Grimsel, Nufenen, Gotthard and Susten passes. Grandiose views and spectacular routes through and over the mountains can be experienced on the four-pass trip - in addition, the driver has a lot to tell about the historical passes.

A wonderful nature reserve with marshy meadows and a reed belt stretches along Lake Thun. The lakeshore is best discovered on foot along the hiking trail from Neuhaus to Merligen. A highlight of the route is a visit to the St. Beatus Caves, whose entrance is directly on the hiking trail. Impressive stalactite formations, rushing waterfalls and mystical grottos await cave visitors. The paths through the cave system are easy to follow and are just as well lit as the many enormous stalactite formations, wide halls and gorges.

On a guided tour of the underworld, you'll walk in the footsteps of eerie tales and plenty of history: according to legend, St. Beatus, believed to be among Irish messengers of the faith, arrived in the area in the 6th century. After his arrival, Beatus is said to have driven away the dragon dwelling in the cave and then settled there to preach Christianity. How the original inhabitants and St. Beatus lived is shown by the replicas of dwellings at the cave entrance. As early as the 18th century, a visit to the St. Beatus Caves was part of the itinerary of famous contemporaries such as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Richard Wagner and Lord Byron.

Among mountaineers, it is considered the wall of walls and the ascent to the Eiger summit over it is one of the most spectacular routes in the world: the Eiger north face. The northern flank of the Eiger drops vertically over 1600 meters. The challenge of conquering the wall attracts the best climbers in the world to this day. But the high mountain experience can also be tackled by non-mountaineers - no path leads closer to the north face than the Eiger Trail. The Jungfrau Railway takes you to the Eiger Glacier station. After a short time, the visitor is then already standing directly in front of the famous wall and sees the ladders that make it easier for climbers to start their adventure. Afterwards, the alpine adventure route leads along the foot of the Eiger north face for an hour - with a magnificent view of the Wetterhorn and Grosse Scheidegg. And those who take binoculars with them can easily observe the climbers on the wall.
