The unique landscape at the foot of the alpine passes Grimsel, Furka and Nufenen.

The sun-drenched high valley in the Valais is a special vacation region. Hospitality has always been written in capital letters here, not only because the king of hoteliers Caesar Ritz came from one of the Obergommer villages.

The clear air, the cool mountain lakes and the kilometer-long hiking and biking routes guarantee pure relaxation. Whether sporty or leisurely, the varied offer in Obergoms leaves nothing to be desired. When driver, putt and lady no longer mean what they are called, golfers are in their element. The 9-hole golf course "Source du Rhône" with driving range is certainly not one of the largest, but certainly one of the most beautiful and idyllic courses in the Alpine region. In addition, mountain bikers let off steam, alpinists climb the highest peaks of the impressive mountain scenery and adventurers plunge into the rapids of the young Rhone on a rubber dinghy.

Those who want to take it a little easier will find peace and relaxation on the more than 700 km of marked hiking trails. Over rocks, glaciers and passes, through narrow valleys and past rushing streams and refreshing fountains, you will walk in the footsteps of the ancient Romans, Walsers and smugglers who dominated the trade route between north and south for centuries. Equally adventurous and inspired by ancient myths are the theme trails on the life of Caesar Ritz in Niederwald, the nature trail in Gletsch or the Kneipp trail in Blitzingen. Nordic walkers will find 11 routes of varying difficulty in the Swiss Nordic Park between Lax, Fiesch and Oberwald. The routes are interconnected via the Rottenweg and invite you to a holistic walking experience.

A very special family experience is the 38 km bike trail from Oberwald to Grengiols. Whether by bike or FLYER bike, you will fly through the valley like in paradise! And what makes every child's heart beat faster is a ride on the nostalgic steam train Furka-Bergstrecke, which offers a very special spectacle for young and old. After all the activities you are hungry and you want to eat well. The countless restaurants and inns in the Obergoms do not ask twice. Because: The name obliges. Caesar Ritz, world-famous pioneer of the hotel business, grew up in the mountain village of Niederwald in Obergoms. This is why gastronomy à la Ritz is still cultivated in Goms today: Strong in nature and its own. The cuisine in Goms is culinary sophisticated, the restaurants and inns have grown with time and spirit. In Goms, which is strong in nature, people still live with the weather and the seasons. And what nature brings forth is also incorporated into the cuisine. The curious can also enjoy the special Ritz menu in the excellent restaurants. Caesar's spirit still lives in the valley...
