In winter, the Haslital offers a tempting range of snow sports and relaxation in quiet valleys

In the well-developed winter sports area Meiringen Hasliberg skiers and snowboarders get their money's worth. Dreamy mountain valleys entice with winter hiking trails and toboggan runs. In the family-friendly region, children and adults will find many great winter experiences.

JWhen there is high fog over the Central Plateau for weeks in winter, the sun usually shines on the Hasliberg: the Brünig Pass represents a classic weather divide. The clouds of fog that drift in from central Switzerland dissolve into nothingness here. While it is dull and wet north of this border, the Hasli Valley beckons with plenty of light and fresh air, the ideal companions for a relaxing and eventful day in the snow.

The slopes have a wide range of difficulty levels. Thus, the demands of beginners as well as experts are covered. The network of slopes covers 60 km and reaches an altitude of 2433 meters. It is accessed by 14 transport facilities, including several ultra-modern gondola and chair lifts. The snow world includes a varied range of restaurants - from the top panorama restaurant "Alpentower" to cozy mountain pubs and homely alpine taverns directly on the slopes. The region's top event is the Ski Cross World Cup, which takes place every year at the beginning of March and features dramatic competitions between world-class athletes on the slopes.

One of the most beautiful snow sports practice areas in the Alps is located on the Hasliberg: in Skihäsliland, the youngest children learn to ski and snowboard in a playful way. Several children's ski lifts, a snowboard lift, a carousel and a slide tower are at their disposal. The area, which is secured all around, is located in the middle of the snow sports area at the Bidmi mountain railroad mid-station. Several slopes lead past it, so that parents can check on it every now and then.

The Hasliberg also promises relaxation and impressive winter experiences away from the slopes. The sunny slope above the Aare valley is, among other things, a popular winter hiking area. 35 km of marked winter hiking trails lead through deeply snow-covered forests and past magnificent, sun-browned farmhouses. On the way you can enjoy a fantastic view of the opposite side of the valley with the Rosenlaui area and of the Bernese High Alps, especially the Wetterhorn and Eiger. A cross-country ski trail for classic and skating between Bidmi and Lischen as well as two toboggan runs complete the offer.

Winter in the Haslital can also be experienced in many ways outside the Meiringen Hasliberg snow sports area . Grandiose mountain scenery and quiet nature are in the foreground here. In the uninhabited Rosenlaui, for example, there is no hustle and bustle on the slopes, but instead a beautifully laid-out winter hiking trail on the flat valley floor and a signalized snowshoe trail up to Grosse Scheidegg. The return to the valley is made with a sparkling toboggan ride on the snow-covered pass road.

Tranquility reigns in winter in the Gadmental. It is located on the Bernese side of the Susten Pass, which is closed in winter. Gadmen is a dreamy mountain village at this time of year, offering plenty of relaxation in an unspoiled winter landscape. A ski lift as well as two winter hiking trails are available. A special jewel is the cross-country ski trail, which leads along the Gadmerwasser in a sunny location. It is laid out as a 15 km long circuit with a lot of views of the imposing mountain scenery. A shortened loop is illuminated several evenings a week.
