The queen of all vines has been growing in Maribor's Lent district for more than 450 years. The old vine is considered the oldest vine in the world and therefore has its own festival during the most joyful and active time of the year for winegrowers.

The Old Vine Festival begins with the festive harvest, which attracts numerous visitors to the Lent district of Maribor every year in October and is considered an important tourist and protocol event in Slovenia. The celebration of the new grape harvest in honor of the "old lady" lasts until the largest St. Martin's festival in Slovenia.
