The valley is world famous, mythical, unique and incomparable, it is a land of legendary stories...

...a natural environment that is breathtaking. Chamonix is located at the foot of the beautiful Mont Blanc mountain range between Switzerland and Italy, only 86km from Geneva airport.

Chamonix is a mountain resort with 10,000 inhabitants and 270 years of history. The town is open all year round, charm and tradition live together. The architectonic heritage is preserved and gives Chamonix its unique atmosphere. Original mountain villages are everywhere in the 23km long valley of Chamonix.

Winter activities
Skiing is the main winter activity. Chamonix is located at 1035m altitude, but 90% of the ski area is above 2000m altitude, therefore Chamonix is a ski resort with natural snow guarantee. The ski area is divided into 3 different areas, accessible to each other by buses and train connections. A mecca for skiers, snowboarders & freeriders with the world famous runs on the Grand-Montets, but there are also other runs for beginners and intermediate skiers. In Chamonix, high-performance athletes and total beginners can write their own story, as they wish and in total safety. The winter season starts in mid-December and lasts until early May, with exceptional spring skiing in April.

Chamonix is also a paradise for non-skiers, perfect for discovering the high mountains, anyone can visit the Sea of Ice or take the highest cable car in Europe up to the Aiguille du Midi (Midday Peak). Museum, sports hall, nightlife, Chamonix offers a wide range of entertainment.
