The trip to Annecy in Savoie (in the departments of Haute-Savoie and Savoie) will take you to the border region of Switzerland and Italy.

In 1860, after a troubled history, this area was finally annexed to France. and is located in southeastern France, at the northern tip of the 27 km² Lac d'Annecy. The city is located 40 km south of the Swiss city of Geneva and is the capital of the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The lake of Annecy and its villages are known worldwide for their exceptional beauty and harmonious landscape. The lake can also boast of its excellent water quality and is now considered the cleanest lake in Europe, thanks to the extensive protection measures that have been consistently implemented for more than 50 years.

In this beautiful natural environment, tourists can enjoy a wide range of recreational activities, both in summer and winter, including sports and cultural activities. Whether water sports (swimming, sailing, water skiing, diving...), cycling (on the more than 40 km long secured bike path along the lake) or mountain activities (hiking, mountain biking, via ferrata, canyoning, paragliding...), the possibilities are endless!

The panorama of the lake and its surrounding mountains appears peaceful and harmonious, and at the same time has a distinct mountain character: the highest peak towering over the lake, located at 447 m above sea level, is the Tournette, a breathtaking mountain in the shape of an armchair, which has its highest point at 2,351 m. Numerous winter resorts can be reached from Annecy in less than an hour.

"Place of art and history"
Visit also the silent witnesses of history. Numerous churches and basilicas, three castles worth seeing (Château de Menthon-Saint-Bernard, Château de Montrottoir and Château de Torrens) and several museums (Musée du Pays de Thônes in Thônes, Ecomusée du Lac d'Annecy in Sevrier...) invite art and culture lovers to do so.
