The Swarovski Crystal Worlds are a unique excursion destination in Tyrol. Experience the opening of the new Wunderkammer in addition to a variety of events in the anniversary year.
From May 8, 2025, Swarovski Kristallwelten in Wattens will be home to a new Wunderkammer designed by the renowned Japanese installation and performance artist Chiharu Shiota. Chiharu Shiota exhibits her art worldwide, including at the Gropius Bau in Berlin and the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. In last year's Capital of Culture Bad Ischl, the Japanese artist designed an exhibition in the concentration camp memorial gallery in Ebensee. "We are proud that we have now been able to win over the Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota. We are looking forward to her installation in texture and color, which will be tailored to the place and the people who meet here," says Stefan Isser, Managing Director of Swarovski Kristallwelten.
Exciting events for families
This year, Swarovski Crystal Worlds has further special offers for families in particular. At Easter (April 11 to 27), young and old detectives can embark on the biggest Easter egg hunt in Tyrol. Creative workshops are also offered for those aged 12 to 99. Around Whitsun (7 to 22 June), the giant celebrates its 30th birthday with a colorful program for the whole family. From July 11 to August 24, 2025, the Roncalli Circus Theater will once again make a guest appearance at Swarovski Crystal Worlds. In the fall(October 17 to November 9), guests can look forward to a new edition of the Halloween Festival, which will highlight the glitter, horror and Halloween customs of different cultures.
Information about the SWAROVSKI CRYSTAL WORLDS
Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a fascinating brand experience focused on art, design and Swarovski's savoir-faire and contribution to pop culture. They were opened in 1995 to mark the company's centenary. Since then, they have served as a creative platform for famous art and design personalities such as Yayoi Kusama, James Turrell and Lee Bul to showcase crystal on their own terms. Over the years, they have created extraordinary designs, spaces and experiences within the Swarovski Crystal Worlds, which now cover an area of more than 7.5 hectares. "The Art of Performance" is one of the many Chambers of Wonder at Swarovski Crystal Worlds and embodies Swarovski's creative role in pop culture. This cabinet of curiosities showcases crystal-studded stage costumes and red carpet looks that have made some of the world's most famous stars shine, including Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Elton John, Katy Perry, Cher and Marilyn Monroe. It is clear that Swarovski has always been part of the zeitgeist and has made the stars of the entertainment world shine.
Since its opening, Swarovski Crystal Worlds has attracted over 17 million visitors thanks to its fascinating Chambers of Wonder, extensive gardens and ever-changing exhibitions.
