Slovenia is clad in green. Almost two thirds of its land area is covered with huge forests. A green pulse beats here, also in terms of sustainability.

The family of destinations bearing the Slovenia Green label is growing every year. Currently, 59 destinations in Slovenia have been awarded the seal of quality for sustainable travel destinations, 5 of which have been awarded platinum.

SLOVENIA GREEN is based on global sustainability criteria, but also takes into account national characteristics and requirements. Depending on how well the destinations meet the criteria, they are awarded the bronze, silver, gold or platinum symbol. As far as service providers are concerned, tourist offices, tourist attractions, restaurants and even beaches can receive the Slovenian green symbol. The system is designed to encourage destinations and service providers to constantly develop and improve.

The commitment to this sustainable development has already been recognized with numerous international awards, including the "Best of Europe 2020" as part of the Sustainable Top 100 Destination Awards.
