With the arrival of spring, Trentino is transformed into a colorful sea of flowers against an impressive Dolomite backdrop. Just the right ambience for a relaxing start to your vacation.
Apple blossom in Val di Non
In April, the Val di Non shines in white and pink when the apple trees are in full bloom. The valley is known far beyond Trentino for its apples and attracts visitors with the "Aprile dolce fiorire" festival from April 11 to May 4 with numerous events such as picnics, gastronomic walks and dandelion tours. Visitors can also enjoy small, historic villages, proud castles and gorges in the neighborhood.
Fragrant panoramic balcony
A balcony of flowers awaits hikers in the forests of Lagorai at an altitude of 2,000 meters. An easy tour above Valfloriana takes you to the "Pradi da le fior", the flower-covered alpine meadows that form a magnificent panoramic balcony with a beautiful view. Crocuses, gentians and anemones line the path from May and exude their scent.
Plant diversity on Monte Baldo
The so-called "Garden of Italy" is also located in Trentino. This is Monte Baldo's nickname due to its extraordinary biodiversity, which attracts botanists from all over Europe. Along its own flower trail, the "Trekking delle malghe e dei fiori del Baldo", arnica, lilies, gentians, orchids, buttercups and silver geraniums bloom between May and June. The trollflower meadows with their spherical yellow flowers are also particularly attractive.
Adamello Brenta Nature Park
The largest nature reserve in Trentino
The nature park extends over a mountainous area of around 620 square kilometers and lies between 477 and 3,558 meters above sea level. Flower-covered meadows, inaccessible pastures, streams, peatlands and rocks make this area unique. Numerous side valleys are the gateway to the wildest and most remote places in the national park, where a wide variety of animal species can be spotted - and not just in spring.
Andalo | The lake that doesn't exist.
Lake Andalo is an excursion destination well worth seeing. A karst lake that slowly fills up with clear, fresh mountain water in spring. All around the lake, the flora awakens and the delicate yellow and white spring flowers compete in a "beauty duel" with the glowing peaks of the Brenta Dolomites.
