The Isarco Valley stretches over a length of 80 kilometers and connects different altitudes from 471 to 3,510 meters above sea level. Ever-changing perspectives allow you to experience its rich natural and cultural landscape. It is one of the main valleys in South Tyrol and is surrounded by picturesque side valleys.

The Ratschingstal, the Ridnauntal, the Jaufental, the Villnösser Tal, Lüsen, the Pfunderertal, the Valsertal, the Pflerschertal and the Pfitschertal all inspire with their pristine beauty. Thanks to the cultivated landscapes and the mild, partly Mediterranean climate, the Isarco Valley has a centuries-old tradition of fruit, chestnut and wine growing. The symbiosis of Alpine down-to-earthness and Italian dolce vita enriches the land, the people and the cuisine.

Hiking in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site
Get on the trail of pristine nature in the Villnöss Dolomite valley. The Puez-Geisler Nature Park located there has rightly been placed under the protection of UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Adolf Munkel Trail, which winds its way along the foot of the Geisler peaks, offers a magnificent view of the jagged Dolomite towers and requires no high-alpine skills. The Puez Geisler Nature Park House serves as a central information point and provides information about the geological, biological and cultural treasures of the region. Guided hikes in the Puez Geisler Nature Park are offered from June to September. The Zans nature adventure trail offers a very gentle insight, which is barrier-free and accessible with a maximum gradient of eight percent. A special recommendation is the Almen Genussweg in the Villnöss Valley. At lofty heights, it leads through the lush green alpine meadows past rustic huts. Typical Eisack Valley fare is on offer there.

Hiking on the Villanderer Alm
The Villanderer Alm, one of the largest and most beautiful high alpine pastures in the country, lies in the Eisack Valley. The vastness of the high alpine pasture, its colourful meadows lined with gnarled mountain pines and the magnificent view of the western Dolomites, such as the Alpe di Siusi, the Sciliar massif and the Odle group, make this place the perfect hiking experience. From Villanders it is around 11 km to the car park at the Gasserhütte hut, which is subject to a charge. If you don't want to drive to the hut yourself, simply take bus no. 345 to the Villanderer Alm. The bus takes about 40 minutes from Klausen.
