Customs and traditional craftsmanship are what make the Tyrolean Advent markets so popular.
Christmas markets are an Alpine tradition - in Tyrol they are also called "Advent markets" or "Christmas markets".
Advent and Christmas time in Innsbruck

The majestic mountain backdrop, which gives the Christmas market - or rather the "Innsbruck Mountain Christmas", which delights guests from near and far with its 6 markets - an incomparable setting, is just one of the highlights.

Watch a life-size nativity scene grow, sail across the wintry Achensee on a festively decorated boat with punch and cookies or listen to traditional music. At "AchenSee Weihnacht", the festive season begins even before the first candle is lit on the Advent wreath. At five events from the end of November, visitors can enjoy Tyrolean specialties, experience old customs and find special Christmas gifts among the local handicrafts: On old farms, in museums and on ships.

Advent in Mayrhofen
The Mayrhofen Advent is romantic - with open fires, gentle, genuine folk music, Zillertal home cooking and a cozy atmosphere. The Mayrhofen Advent is decelerating and relaxing - buy local handicraft products without crowds and without haggling and feel good with a cup of mulled wine. The Christkindl post office, Kröll's Advent bakery and a petting zoo will make children's hearts beat faster. Tradition lives on at the Mayrhofen Advent, where you can still experience cozy, contemplative hours at the idyllic Waldfestplatz.
Open on all Advent weekends from 5 - 9 pm
Authentic, contemplative and stress-free.....

Unforgettable Advent dreams in Kufsteinerland
100,000 glowing red poinsettias, wild Haflinger stallions in the snow and elaborately costumed Perchten against the evil winter spirits: the fortress town of Kufstein and its eight surrounding communities on the Austrian-Bavarian border entice visitors with ancient Advent customs, such as smoking in the "Rauhnächten" or "Kripperlschauen", pre-Christmas hikes and wonderful Christmas markets in the middle of the Tyrolean mountains.
